All About Fundraising
The money raised by any fundraiser goes into the PBSN general fund/bank account.
All monies raised goes towards keeping the PBSN website up and running (we have to pay a monthly fee to keep the website online) and to pay for annual conventions. If there is enough money left after paying for the general costs of the convention, we try to offer some grant money towards the hotel bill. Some years this is possible and some it is not. The more fundraisers we have, the more likely the possibility of grants for the convention. We are working on getting doctors interested in PBS research and this is not a long way off.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and a copy of our IRS determination papers can be provided, upon request. As we are a non-profit organization, your donation is tax-deductible and a receipt will be mailed to you all monetary contributions.
All money raised is used to benefit PBSN members. If a person is not able to attend a convention, they are still benefiting because they have access to the website. We do not use any of the money to pay staff as we are all volunteers.
Listed below are various possible methods to help fundraise.

Some biggest ideas :
1. organize a benefit dance (similar to organizing a wedding reception without the wedding - get a hall donated - have a buffet (get the food donated) - music (can be a DJ - donated??) - sell tickets - sell raffles there too - (a 50/50 raffle does well around here!)
2. organize a benefit concert - get bands to donate the night - get a place to donate the door - get raffles donated - sell raffle tickets - etc.
3. .music fundraisers and media inquiries: http://www.spoonwalk.com/pbsnpage.htm
We invite all PBSN musicians/entertainers worldwide to organize benefits enlisting fellow performers to help raise awareness & funds using their talents & media contacts.
Please pass this & all music information on to everyone you feel would be interested in participating in, developing, or witnessing these events.
4. Another idea is to have any & all PBSN musicians donate a song to a full CD project. Andy Dunne, A PBS Musician from Ireland (see http://andydunne.com/ ) has agreed to donate a song if it happens!
